Newborn Portrait Sessions

The first days with your baby are tender, emotional, and fleeting. Newborn portrait sessions are designed to preserve those tiny details and genuine connections in a calm, relaxed experience tailored to your family. My approach encompasses soft, natural posing, styled posing, and meaningful moments that feel authentic, timeless, and full of emotion.

Whether documenting your baby alone or including parents and siblings, each session is thoughtfully styled to create imagery that feels natural, connected, and deeply personal.

What to Expect

Newborn sessions are intentionally slow-paced and baby-led. Your baby’s comfort and safety always come first, allowing plenty of time for feeding, soothing, diaper changes, and cuddling throughout the session.

Sessions typically last between 2–3 hours to allow for a relaxed experience without feeling rushed.

During your session, we will capture:

-Individual newborn portraits

-Parent and baby images

-Sibling and family portraits

-Natural, connected moments together

-Delicate details like tiny fingers, eyelashes, and toes

The overall experience is calm, cozy, and stress-free so you can simply enjoy this special season with your growing family.

When to Schedule

Newborn sessions are best photographed within the first 5–14 days after birth, when babies are sleepiest and naturally curl into those sweet newborn poses. However, beautiful newborn portraits can absolutely be captured beyond this timeframe as well.

I recommend reserving your session during your second trimester to ensure availability around your due date.

Preparing for Your Session

For Baby

Try to keep baby awake for a short period before the session if possible.

Feeding baby right before the session often helps them feel sleepy and content.

Bring extra bottles, pacifiers, diapers, and wipes if needed.

Loose-fitting clothing that zips before the session can help avoid marks on baby’s skin.

For Parents & Siblings

Neutral, soft-toned clothing photographs beautifully and keeps the focus on connection and emotion.

Avoid busy patterns, bright logos, or neon colors.

Keep sibling outfits simple and comfortable.

Hair and makeup should feel polished but natural.

A full styling guide and preparation information will be provided prior to your session to help everything feel effortless and coordinated.
